Aleph Farms produces slaughter-free meat in space

Israel-based cultivated beef steaks producer Aleph Farms has collaborated with Russian company 3D Bioprinting Solutions to produce its first slaughter-free meat in space.

The company said it was successful in producing meat on the International Space Station (ISS), 339km away from any natural resources.

Cargill and IFC to introduce initiatives for cocoa cooperatives

Cargill has renewed its partnership with the International Finance Corporation (IFC) to further strengthen its cocoa-producing cooperatives and their communities, including the Coop Academy 2.0 programme. Under the new partnership, 40 extra cooperatives will be added to the academy, taking the total count of cooperatives to 120.

UK campaign raises concern over number of missed food inspections

A Freedom of Information request from the Unchecked.uk campaign has revealed that more than 50,000 food inspection checks were outstanding in 2017/18. With only 11% of local councils able to carry out planned food checks on time, the campaign has raised concerns that serious hygiene breaches could have been missed.
