Kurita Europe invests in the future and opens new Technology Center

fter 12 months of construction time, the inauguration of the new Kurita Europe Technology Center (KETC) took place on the 23rd of September in Viersen, Germany. The new KETC will combine Kurita´s R&D expertise under one roof. KETC will enable researchers to work closely together to develop new products, technologies, and services efficiently and effectively. In addition, KETC has a training center for employees and a visitor center to introduce Kurita Europe´s research and development to customers and trading partners. Through active communication among employees and co-creation with customers and other external parties, our goal is to create innovations that maximize customer value and create shared value with society.

About Kurita

Kurita Europe GmbH was established in 1989 in Viersen, Germany. Since then, Kurita Europe has been providing solutions to various industrial water issues in Europe through its water treatment technologies and services, based on the Kurita Group's corporate philosophy of "Study the properties of water, master them, and we will create an environment in which nature and man are in harmony”. Through the acquisition of the water treatment chemicals business from BK Giulini in 2015, Kurita Europe has grown to become one of the largest subsidiaries of the Kurita Group, operating in a wide range of areas in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. To be prepared for the Future, Kurita Europe decided to build a new Technology Centre in Germany. A state-of-art centre with the most modern test methods and equipment. The R&D activities for the development of new Technologies & Solutions for all kind of water treatment applications – boiler, cooling, drinking, membrane and process & paper chemicals applications. 

Future Outlook

It is Kurita´s vision to change society and industry with water knowledge. Recycling of water and the use of non-fossil regenerative sources for chemical production will have increasing importance to achieve the sustainable development goals of the United Nations. Kurita's new Technology Center shall become one important hub to fulfill Kurita's vision. It will be a center of knowledge as well as a center of communication and exchange with Kurita's customers to identify their needs better and develop new solutions that give value to the customer and help to protect the environment.

The Technology Center supports Kurita's vision with the following concerns:

  • To reduce the environmental footprint
  • Saving water
  • Saving energy
  • Reducing greenhouse gases
  • Reducing /Eliminating discharge of phosphate
